After the Teachers' Day Mass, our students put on special performances to thank their teachers for their guidance throughout the year.

Student Leaders' Investiture was held on 11 August 2017. We thank our guest-of-honour, Ms Eliza Tan, for gracing the occasion.

Our students and staff came dressed in national colours to celebrate Singapore's 52nd Birthday!

On 04 August 2017, students, staff and parents gathered at Bishan-AMK Park for the Cross Country Championships. It was a fine day made even better by the sportsmanship and enthusiasm of all who were present.

We celebrated Racial Harmony Day on 19 July 2017. The students came dressed in their vibrant ethnic costumes. They enjoyed the local dishes prepared by our Parent Support Group and the performance put up by our CCE student representatives.

IJ commemorated IFD in the 3rd week of April through a wide array of activities such as morning sharing by our international students, song and dance performances by our Indonesian and Thai students as well as sampling of Thai cuisines that were prepared by the PSG. IJ also had our inaugural 'IFD Fashion Parade' which saw teachers sashaying down the catwalk in their international costumes.

We celebrated IJ Spirit Day and IJ Fiesta on Friday, 10 March 2017. The theme for this year was “ALOHA OHANA". It was a fun-filled and exciting event organised by the CHIJ Secondary Student Council with the support of the Parent Support Group and the CHIJ Alumni to build the IJ Spirit.

The school celebrated together, the ushering in of the year of the Rooster. May we all be blessed with love, joy, prosperity & fulfilment.

On 3rd to 6th January 2017, an Orientation programme was organised for new members to the IJ family. Some highlights include a school tour, induction session and house games. Student leaders also facilitated a learning journey to CHIJMES to learn about the rich heritage of the school. The orientation concluded with a CCA tour and a cosy campfire.

On 5th November 2016, CHIJ Secondary School welcomed visitors to IJ for an authentic and vibrant experience. Amidst the colourful decorations, visitors took part in authentic and fun-filled activities and viewed exhibition booths on cca offered by the school.

On 19 February, an Educational Fair comprising a total of 19 institutions was organised for our graduating students. They provided a wide array of information on post-secondary options. It was an invaluable platform for our students to interact with staff and students of these institutions, enabling them to make informed decisions of their post-secondary journey.

In celebration of the gift of friendship in our IJ family, staff and students had a roti prata party on 22 February.

On 5 February, the school celebrated Chinese New Year, ushering in the year of the Monkey. The celebrations started with the Thanksgiving mass, followed by performances from different groups such as CLDDS, Choir, Rhythmic Gymnastics and the House Committee. May we all be blessed with love, joy, prosperity & fulfillment in the year of the Monkey.

CHIJ Secondary hosted Ms Cheryl Fox and Mr Steven Chia from Channel News Asia on 03rd February for the school’s afternoon assembly programme. The sharing by Ms Fox and Mr Chia was meaningful, because it brought greater awareness to the student body of the importance of keeping themselves abreast with local and global issues, especially with the implementation of the new Social Studies syllabus.

As the South Zone Centre of Excellence for Language and the Arts, we held our inaugural nationwide English Language and Literature Symposium on 28 January 2016, which was attended by more than 300 teachers in the fraternity. We were privileged to have educators and industry practitioners share their insights and best practices in the teaching of English Language and Literature.

On 4, 5, and 8 January 2016, the Secondary 1s had a fun-filled orientation to ease their transition into CHIJ. An array of activities, talks and a learning journey to CHIJMES was planned by our student leaders and teachers to induct them into the school. The orientation ended on a high note with a campfire, where family members were invited to witness their initiation into the big IJ family.
